Street Heat Web Competition

ASCI and LAUNCH Darwin are teaming up to present the Street Heat Web Competition, an action sports event out of Darwin that invites shredders from across the Territory to enter!

Due to COVID-19 skate events across the country have been cancelled until further notice, including our annual Youth Week Street Heat event. This doesn’t stop skaters though. The Australian Skateboarding Community Initiative (ASCI) has been working with the team at liveheats to develop a professional online competition that allows us to stay home, win prizes, progress and have fun.

How it works …

  • All action sports disciplines are encouraged to enter – Scooter + BMX + Quads + Skateboarding + Inline
  • There are three divisions – Under 12, Under 16 and Open
  • To keep things as accessible as possible this is a FLAT GROUND only comp
  • Competing is free and prizes are awarded for the top videos in each division
  • Winners will receive vouchers from Skate Connection and local stores
  • To enter you will need to sign up for an account with Clippero and upload your video/s of up to five tricks (see FAQ below for more info)
  • All skill levels are encouraged to enter, as well as the three age divisions there are two categories that aren’t about being the BEST at your discipline:
    • MAVERICK celebrates creativity and people doing things a bit differently.
    • FRESH LOCAL celebrates people who are fresh on the scene, everyone’s got to start somewhere!

Entries close midnight May 31

The Australian Web Championships is a national web based competition where:

  • Competitors upload their 5 best FLAT GROUND tricks.
  • Anyone can view entries via a feed on the website.
  • Competitors nationwide will be judged by Professional Skateboarders: Tommy Fynn + Aimee Massie + Beau Hinge

Skateboarders who win their regional comp will also qualify for a national competition later in the year.

Street Heat Rules

  • Competitors must live in the Northern Territory. If there is also a web competition hosted in your part of the NT we recommend that you enter that as well.
  • Entries can be uploaded any time before Sunday May 31st.
  • Entrants can enter up to 5 tricks. They can be uploaded in the same video or different videos. But you will only be judged for 5 tricks.
  • There is 1 winner per division and one winner for each of the special prize categories.
  • Tricks are scored on difficulty and style (how hard they are and how clean landed).
  • Points awarded for creativity and doing something fun or different.
  • Do not skate on the road, or near moving vehicles. Use spaces that are safe, and on your own property as much as possible.
  • Follow physical distancing recommendations and COVID-19 restrictions.
  • U12 and U16 Divisions are required to wear helmets.
