Are you interested in event coordination and live music?
Ever wanted to organise your own gig?
This is an opportunity for you to be mentored through the steps to put on an awesome all ages event for your mates and the Darwin community. You’ll receive one-on-one training and have a budget to create something really special.
LAUNCH is looking for 5 young (15-25 years) live music event coordinators who are keen to help us put on 5 gigs that show off amazing local music talent and celebrate Darwin. The 5 event coordinators will work with local producer Amy Hetherington to take their events from idea to epic celebration.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- You’ll have a budget and access to gig gear to put on your event
- You’ll get one-on-one mentoring to make sure the event runs smoothly
- You’ll get to put on an all ages outdoor beachside gig for everyone to enjoy
- You’ll gain skills, confidence and a super awesome project for your resume
- Gigs will be held once a month May – September
- Gigs will feature solo, duo, DJs or small scale musical acts (we can chat about this if you’re in the program)
- You’ll receive a small fee to help cover any participation expenses
- You’ll have access to an office space at City of Darwin to work from
- Participants need to be aged 15-25 and either live, work or study in Darwin
If chosen for the LAUNCH event coordinator team you will need to attend a group workshop in March and then be available to run an event in either May, June, July, August or September. Any questions get in touch with us at youthprojects@darwin.nt.gov.au
