Do you get annoyed when you find out about a fun event AFTER it has happened?
Don’t know where to go to find information on local mental health services?
Wish there was an easier way to find out about sporting teams you could join?
LAUNCH would love to try and solve some of these problems and we’re on the hunt for a team of young people to work with two local marketing legends – Amy Hetherington (Amiable Communications) and Kate Dinning (We are Locals) – to help make it happen.
Our four interns will work with Amy and Kate to develop a marketing strategy for LAUNCH that will help us understand what we can do to give young people access to the information they want about local events, activities and support services.
What will interns get out of this opportunity?
- Work on a real life project that benefits ALL young people in Darwin
- Mentoring from Kate and Amy
- New marketing knowledge and skills
- Improved networks and deeper local connections
- Greater understanding of Darwin’s young people and the barriers they have in accessing information
- Involvement in an important project to put on their resume
- A payment of up to $500 for their contribution (depending on level of commitment)
How much time do interns need to commit to the project?
Interns will need to be available to commit approximately 25 hours to the project which will include five evening workshops:
- Monday June 6 = Overview + Context
- Monday June 20 = Understanding the Market
- Monday July 4 = Marketing Strategies + Tactics
- Monday July 18 = Marketing Channels
- Monday August 8 = Bringing it all together
PLUS 2-3 hours of homework in between each session.
AND a few hours to review and provide feedback on the final draft strategy and to present it at a youth forum in September 2022.
