We are **STOKED** to announce that we’ve partnered with Freestyle Scooter Riding Association and Surf Life Saving NT to bring our community of scooter riders some great workshops and events this school holidays.
All activities will be held at the Leanyer Skate Park, 305 Vanderlin Drive, Malak
Scooter Comp
Freestyle Scootering Association presents Darwin’s very first SCOOTER COMP! With beginner, intermediate & expert divisions, each competitor will get 2 x 45 second runs to compete for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes.
NB All competitors will need to wear shoes and safety gear. Under 18s will need signed consent from a guardian to compete. You can download and prefill a copy of the CONSENT FORM or sign up on the day.

Become a Scooter Coach
Darwin has heaps of scooter riders but no scooter coaches. There are paid work opportunities available for qualified coaches. Learn how to run scooter skills and maintenance workshops and get lifetime access to Freestyle Scootering Association coaching resources.
Presented by Levi Knight from Freestyle Scootering Association.
Ages 15+

Advanced Scooter Skills
This workshop with Levi Knight and Kevin Austin from Freestyle Scootering Association will cover safe scootering techniques, skill building and progression advice. The coaching that participants receive will provide them with techniques and theories they can work on for weeks and months after attending the session.
Ages 12+
2pm-3pm Monday 27 June
Scooter Maintenance
Learn how to understand, fix and maintain your scooter. All participants will receive free griptape and handle grips to apply to their own scooter during the workshop.
Presented by Levi Knight and Kevin Austin from Freestyle Scootering Association.
Ages 12+ (though participants a year or two younger may attend if accompanied by an adult)

BOOKED OUT – Beginner Scooter Skills
This workshop with Levi Knight and Kevin Austin from Freestyle Scootering Association will cover safe scootering techniques, skill building and progression advice. The coaching that participants receive will provide them with techniques and theories they can work on for weeks and months after attending the session.
NB Workshop participants need to be able to ride a scooter in a straight line and stop, and to have enough spatial awareness not to be a hazard to others in the skate park.
