Anglicare NT and City of Darwin have partnered up for another year of Couch Surfing to raise awareness of youth homelessness on Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2025. This day will bring together young people, school groups and community organisations for couch surfing races, a best decorated couch competition and information stalls!
Youth Homelessness is a critical issue in the NT with a large number of young people aged 12-25 lacking stable housing this includes living on the streets, hopping between place to place, or overcrowded conditions.
Couch surfing is an important community event that draws attention to these issues while also engaging young people in a fun way that encourages teamwork and connection with family, friends and the wider community.
All young people need a safe place to call home – Together we can work towards ending child and youth homelessness.
Couch Surfing is a free family-friendly event – all are welcome to attend!
