Do you like promoting healthy activity and positive attitudes?
LAUNCH Darwin is looking for enthusiastic young people to help present and support our Jingili Skate Nights program in 2021. The role is good for people who like working with the community and maintaining safe, responsible and positive behaviour.
PS Skate/quads/scooter/BMX experience is a bonus!
About Skate Nights
Skate Nights at Jingili have been running consistently since 2018 as a part of the LAUNCH Darwin year round skate program. They are a free, open-access, 2 hour jam at the Jingili Skatepark (corner of Freshwater and Trower roads). Skate Nights run every second week on Wednesdays from March to November. The evening is chance to encourage young people to get out and engage in active recreation at the park.
Skate Nights aren’t just for skateboarders, we have a strong community of roller and inline skaters as well as BMX riders and freestyle scooterers who join in regularly. Our attendees are generally 13 to 30 years of age and have a wide range of skate park skills. On average around 25 users come through the space each Skate Night.
Jingili Skate Nights ARE NOT a come-try space or lesson opportunity (this is definitely not a coaching or teaching job). They are an open-social jam for people aged 13 and over who have the awareness to use the space safely.
